Indoor architectural fun with the kaleidoscope Jelly Lens, which makes otherwise dull windows and ceiling tiles abstract wonders :)

Nope, it’s not a lensbaby shot! It was taken on my iPhone, using my new neato cheapo Jelly Lenses! Yay! Three arrived in the mail the other day – starburst, kaleidoscope and wide angle – and I promptly stuck em on and experimented on my way to work. FUN!

I’ve been beta testing a new Lensbaby set-up which has super close macro capabilities! Woo!

We took a road trip to Rochester this weekend and it was surprisingly photographic! What a quirky little city. Most of the time was spent at the Memorial Art Gallery (which will soon become apparent), but on the way out we noticed this refurbed old factory now home to an eclectic mix of shops and restaurants. Neato!

Guess I’ve figured out what the new Lensbaby’s soft focus aperture discs do. Weird spotty bokeh!

Basically, I dropped a small round piece of cardboard with lots of little holes in it behind the lens.

OK, the Lensbaby fisheye is MUY FUN! The moveability (mobilty?) of the entire lens means you’re not restricted to the usual full circle fisheye madness and can be creative with partial globes and corners. Combined with special soft focus aperture discs, you can get a nice gradual fade as it curves into darkness.

Still getting used to the simple twist focus of the Composer tho. After years of gripping and manipulation on the Original’s bellows, it feels like cheating!

It’s finally starting to melt, which is almost a shame when it has the ability to transform even weeds and other mundane objects into abstract wonders.
