So a few weeks (month?) ago, we took a weekend trip to the Thousand Islands region of Upstate NY and visited Boldt Castle, a quaint castle on it own island. Most of it has been lovingly restored, but of course I much preferred the top floor, which was in a state of complete squalor, and the spooky basement. YES!

I loved how the texture played out when this printed. Yay film!

It may be raining today, but last weekend the sun was stunning!

As the temps here reach boiling point, I thought it might be time to reflect on cooler times… yet with a hellfire theme? Hmmm… A winter image from the beginning of a roll of redscale I just got developed! Guess I’ve been working on it for awhile eh? These trees, from Stewart Park in Ithaca, may look familiar, as I seem to shoot them a lot. But how can I resist?

Had to embark on another sad transatlantic trip, during the height of the volcanic ash chaos no less, so we ended up in Barcelona before taking an epic train journey across France and England. I managed to snap a few shots in the magical city, mostly on my iPhone again.

Part of my recent trip included a short return to Glasgow, where I was delighted to find an adorable new cafe on the second floor of a suddenly cool vintagey De Courcy’s Arcade on Ashton Lane.

I’ve just returned from an exhausting journey. This about sums up my physical and emotional state at the moment.

The first leg involved an insane 12 hour stint in London (after a sleepless 7-hour flight and nearly sleepless night prior) and the last leg was another sleepless 8-hour flight followed by an 8-hour layover in Detroit, much of which was spent wandering with iPhone in hand on an airport photo safari. Lucky you!

I’m afraid I shall be incommunicado for the next two weeks, as I’m off on a last-minute trip abroad. In the meantime, try not to get too dizzy staring into the soft swirl of this cool cactus.

Sometimes less really is more.
