As the temps here reach boiling point, I thought it might be time to reflect on cooler times… yet with a hellfire theme? Hmmm… A winter image from the beginning of a roll of redscale I just got developed! Guess I’ve been working on it for awhile eh? These trees, from Stewart Park in Ithaca, may look familiar, as I seem to shoot them a lot. But how can I resist?

Is it spring yet? No? Well, better make the most of the winter then.

Two of my favorite trees, revisited. With iPhone/Hipstamatic magic!

I suck at home development, hard core. There was another roll of 120 shot through my Lubi, but it was sacrificed to the gods of stupidity. After a ridiculously frustrating 40 minutes in a dark closet trying to load the roll onto the developing spool, I flung it across the room and stomped off in a huff… only to realize I had been winding the paper backing instead of the film. D’oh! Then I ended up with milky negatives from this roll, so tried re-emersing in fixer and adding some cleaning agent (which I mixed up on the spot, on the fly.. hmmm) and ended up with THIS mess.

I mean, it was totally intentional. TOTALLY.

Revisiting those trees again, this time in black and white.

So, I suck at home development. I bought a new developing tank and had another go. This time, one roll came out completely blank, and the other was milky and splotched and speckled. Ack!

Luckily, the results aren’t all bad. They look… er… aged. And atmospheric. Almost intentional. Uh huh.

What can I say, I love these trees!
